'Girls are Best'

Helping to make International Women's Day everyday (ok, I didn't get a chance to post this on March 8th), a daily glance at 'Girls are Best' by Sandi Toksvig not only reminds us of the many great women and their achievements from the past but as the front cover states it is 'a book which will make girls realize that anything is possible" and thus, hopefully, "ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding" - IWD

This is one of my daughter's favourite books: the book that she reads and rereads, the book that she quotes from and the book that helped us name Ada as Ada Lovelace is credited with doing the groundwork for developing the computer and considered the world's first computer programmer.

The first chapter of this children's book asks "Why do we even need to show that 'Girls are Best'?
Simple answer: so that we are not forgotten!
