Pop, Power and Politics and In and Out of Fashion

Two wonderfully named exhibitions here in Edinburgh: one has already opened and the other opens this weekend. Both are free.

Recognising the centenary of the Carnegie UK Trust, the Scottish Parliament has put together an exhibition 'of items which contribute towards political debate and thinking, while demonstrating the impact one person can make.' With support throughout the years from the Andrew Carnegie legacy, forty of Andy Warhol's works of art exploring the themes of power and politics are included in this exhibition.

And opening this Saturday at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, the flamboyant, colourful and often surreal fashion photographs of Dutch photographer, Viviane Sassen.

  1. Now I know what I'd be doing in Edinbourgh this weekend, if I were there. I love getting glimpses into your surroundings!

    1. Dawn, I have already been to the Warhol exhibition which was great but it could have been in a room twice the size. The work around the assassination of JFK is in a narrow area and even although the number of visitors are limited, I still missed a lot. But still worth a visit!
